Costs & Payments
PAYING RENT Rent is
to be paid no less than fortnightly in advance
and must be paid directly into our
bank account
by direct debit, direct deposit or internet banking. Credit card payments can
be set up through a company called Rental Rewards. Not only will your rent be
automatically deducted from your credit card, thus saving you any
inconvenience in remembering to pay your rent or worrying about reference
numbers, you will also earn frequent flyer points each time your rent is paid.
Please note a fee of 1.32% is incurred for this service. Should you elect not
to pay with your credit card and you choose the direct deposit route you will
be issued with a deposit book, which will allow you to visit any Branch of ANZ
and pay rent directly into our Trust Account.
Should you lose your
deposit book there will be a $8.00
charge for the issue of a new book.
Should you pay via internet transfer or direct debit please note rent cannot
be paid directly into our account without a reference appearing. Suitable
references are the property’s address, your deposit book number or your
surname. Should you deposit funds into
our account without such a reference a tracing fee of $10.00 will be charged.
There will be $15.00 charge for any payments, which are dishonored.
BONDS The Rental Bond
Authority holds bonds in trust. The purpose of a bond is to guarantee payment
of rent to an owner and to allow funds for any repairs, attend to matters the
tenant may have overlooked when vacating, or to attend to any damage caused by
the tenant. There is no reason why your bond cannot be fully refunded
providing you have fulfilled your responsibilities as a tenant.
LATE PAYMENTS A late
payment constitutes a breach of your Tenancy Agreement. Please ensure that
your rent is always in advance so a good reference may be issued at the
completion of your tenancy. Advise immediately if there are difficulties.
Should you fall into arrears with your rent there are a series of steps we are
at liberty to and also obliged to follow. In most cases a reminder phone call
or email will be made. Should you choose to ignore this reminder; a Notice to
Remedy Breach will be served. A breach Notice is a blemish on your record and
can be disclosed when providing a reference on you. Failure to remedy the
breach in full can result in a Notice to Leave (eviction notice) being
served. Repeated breaches are also cause for an eviction notice to be
served.
